Ok, so a lot of music dropped in the last week. Somehow, in the midst of all of it I was able to overlook one of my personal most-anticipated projects in Austin Fillmore’s ThinklessFeelMore Vol. 1 which hit last week, but somehow skirted just under my radar. That said, the lead single from this project hit the streets almost a full calendar back with “Juke,” his breakthrough track that plays on aesthetics of footwork and juke to create the perfect summer dance floor jam. Fillmore is far from a one-trick artist though, as we found out last night when we had him on our Mild Sauce Live show on Mild Sauce Radio. Listening to ThinklessFeelMore one can immediately get the understanding that his is an artistry that is far-reaching and rarely satisfied. That’s reflected in his work which reaches outward into several different genres while retaining a central theme of uplifted messaging. At six new tracks, we’d certainly like to see some more from Fillmore, but we’ll take what we can get at this point. Outside of the obvious hook with “Juke” the album really does standalone with surprises throughout that run the gamut of what being a musician in this city really means today. No boxes, but plenty of lanes to operate. Don’t be like me and miss out on this one any longer. Check it out above, flip over to Mild Sauce Radio to catch it streaming and get further in tune with our sit down available below as well.
