The nineties are officially nostalgic and as we’ve seen with all things pulling from the twenty-year-loop, a well-timed recycle can be very effective. That’s the idea at least behind Malcolm London’s latest video for his single “House Party” that pulls motifs from the seminal movies of the same name that feature Kid N’ Play.

Here, London and Femi reprise those roles in the somewhat cinematic affair for the song featured on London’s debut full-length, OPIA. Anyone who knows him, knows that he’s got a thing for house parties out on the west side where he resides, so I’m sure getting the ideas and shots for this one down were no big thing. It’s an appropriately lo-fi affair directed by none other than Enstrumental and features a slew of well-aware cameos that keep the piece moving forward for anyone with a sense of the scene at large. The whole thing is a real tight concept that’s fun full through to the end. Definitely check this one out asap.
