The city’s creative scene is at it again, and this time it’s not in the music side of things. August 21 marked the day that Austin Vesely’s trailer for his upcoming feature-length film with A24 hit the world, and we couldn’t be more excited. The director, who came up working alongside some of the biggest names in the city including Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Eryn Allen Kane and just about anyone else for that matter, is now taking his talents to the big time, and doing so with some friends.
Along for the ride is Chance, who makes his big-screen debut playing the centerpiece of the film which deals with a murdered pizza boy and a possessed pizza place. Zazie Beetz, best known for her work on Easy and Atlanta, also plays a prominent role and the whole thing seems to have a true 90s-film feel. That’s been missing from Hollywood for a minute and it’s exciting to see Vesely, who makes a cameo as the murdered pizza boy, finally get a piece of art he’s been working on for years to the masses. The release date is still up in the air, but trust we’ll have it here for you as soon as it comes available. For updates, check the Slice website. Check out the trailer above and keep it locked to Mild Sauce for much more coming soon.
