Perhaps no other artists operating in the greater Midwest scene has taken larger steps froward over the course of the last year than St. Louis product Smino. The Chicago transplant took off on the heels of his last two project, blkjuptr and Blkswn and has since been enjoying the fruits of his labor as he prepares to join fellow Zero Fatigue artist Ravyn Lenae on tour serving as direct support for SZA on her ‘CTRL’ tour. Blkswn made Smino a regular name amongst bloggers and well-heeled music fans across the country, in turn evolving him from a regionally-known act to a recognized artist on the rise and one of the standout tracks from that project, “Netflix & Dusse” finally got a visual rendering.

This one continues on Smino’s somewhat theatrical foray into visuals since stepping out last year with another tight representation that is set in the most midwestern of summertime haunts: the drive-in. It’s a subtle yet easily obvious play on the song’s title and follows him and a female companion as they get comfortable in the front seat. Catch him on the SZA ‘CTRL’ tour which gets underway August 16.
