Releases come in flurries these days, so to assure we keep you all up with the hottest new work hitting the streets here in Chicago we bundle up the best and most talked about videos for your viewing pleasure. This time around we have a hip-hop-heavy offering as we feature some new visual representations from the likes of Caleb James, GLC, Montana of 300 and more. Check it all out before and be sure to keep an eye out for our Music News and News Catch-Ups popping up daily!

Caleb James • “Yellow Light”

As the SaveMoney collective has one by one taken their steps toward the limelight, Caleb James has been the decided outlier, biding his time out west while maneuvering in a manner all his own, while simultaneously able to stay in town with the group he came up with. It’s been a minute since we last got a new one from the Day 1 MC and he returned this week with a talented visual for his standout single, “Yellow Light”. The Jones might just be finding his footing once again and we can’t be more excited. Check out the video above.

GLC •“Sankofa With Kwesi”

Last weekend I had the opportunity to host a talk at Dream Town Shoes on the city’s west side which included the legendary GLC. Following closely on that talk, the longtime Chicago MC dropped off a new visual which debuted as a ‘GLC The Ism Film’. Dude’s taking his art further into his own hands and takes us on a history lesson of sorts with this one. A seasoned veteran of the game in all its instances, GL proves once again here he’s got plenty of gas in the tank. Check it out below.

Chicago Afrobeat Project • “No Bad News” (Ft. Kiara Lanier, LEGIT & Tony Allen)

This city is filled with talent which means that when releases hit, they could come from well-known artists as well as after-school programs, college-courses, activist groups or any number of local boiling pots of art that have come to characterize the city in recent years. True to form, the Chicago Afrobeat Project teamed up with a healthy contingent of the city’s talent in Kiara Lanier, Legit and Tony Allen for a new, uplifting single “No Bad News”. Get into it below.

Montana of 300 • “Bodak Yellow”

Montana of 300 keeps the internet stocked with plenty of releases on the regular. Last week, he arrived doing his best Flipmode impression, channeling Busta Rhymes in his similarly-titled visual. This time around? He’s going a bit more contemporary as he takes a page out of Cardi B’s book, adding his own flavor to her chart-topping hit “Bodak Yellow”.
