New music comes in flurries, something we in the middle of the map are well acquainted with this time of year and Mild Sauce is back again with a quick round up of new releases that hit the public over the course of the last week or so. This time around we have some new projects from several artists looking to make a splash in the new year including Famous Dex, CupcaKKe, Vic Spencer and Young Chop. Get familiar below and make sure, as always, to tune into Mild Sauce Radio, streaming 24/7 with new singles from Chicago playing nightly at 8 PM CST!

Famous Dex • Read About It…

Since breaking out back in 2015, Famous Sex has been one of the more interesting and eclectic new faces to emerge in the wake of Drill’s first wave. With an animated disposition and catchy ad-libs, songs like “Kanye”, “Drip From My Walk” and “Lost In The Sea” became instant hits locally and saw him pair up with fellow rising acts at the time such as Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert. A scandalous video in 2016 knocked things off course for a minute, but with 2017 in the rearview and a very hot single with A$AP Rocky in the bag, Sex is back again with another collection, Read About It.. that should be just the tip of the iceberg for whats to come in the new year. Check it out below and keep an eye out for plenty more.

CupcaKKe • Ephorize

There’s probably few artists who have come about from Chicago or anywhere over the course of the last couple of years who have made as much of a startling impact as CupcaKKe, who offered up her highly-anticipated next chapter as Ephorize hit the streets this week.

If you’re new to CupcaKKe, beware. Her music might not be the stuff to blast at the office, but in a post-Weinstein #MeToo world, the fast-talking MC has established herself as an aggressive voice for women that pulls zero punches. No subject matter is off-limits and she certainly explores the outer limits of what she can put on wax. It’s refreshing to see an artist just let it all go without worrying about opinions. CupcaKKe is CupcaKKe and it seems she gets smoother with each project. Feel free to dive in here at your own accord.

Vic Spencer • Spencer For Higher

For years Vic Spencer has operated just beneath the surface of the mainstream in Chicago, often popping up with talented singles, collaborations and the like with regularity. While he may at times be best known for his feuds on Twitter and associated social media, it’s never taken away from the fact dude can do his things, which he proves once again on his latest collection, Spencer For Higher… which dropped somewhat unexpectedly this week. The fourteen track offering is a solo adventure for the most part, Vic staking his claim to the fresh year, save for a couple features, one of which appropriately taps Chris $pencer partner Chris Crack for (our favorite) “SauceMANIA”. When he drops projects, he comes correct; make sure to give this one a couple spins below.

Young Chop • King Chop 2

Since emerging in the eye of the storm of the first wave of Drill back in 2011/12, Young Chop has grown into one of the most consistent artists in the city, continually churning out new content on the regular and filling blogs, playlists and video watch lists with plenty to stay aware. With the new year in full swing, it was only a matter of time before we got something new from dude, and that materialized this week as his much-teased King Chop 2. Dropping on Apple Music, the project boasts a single “Yea” with Bump J, plus singles with Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Jadakiss and PARTYNEXTDOOR. There’s some star power. Get in it below.
