About a month back, NPR announced a competition for independent artists and bands to participate in with the hopes of landing their own gig on the iconic set. The parameters of the contest were to simply record an original song with video and perform it live. From there, hundreds of entries from across the country have poured in and are available at NPR.com. Per usual, the city of Chicago had some heat to offer up, and we went through to find some gems from artists we’ve been following around the city.
