Over the course of the last five years or so, the trend of producers emerging from the background to become stars in their own right has become a regularity. While names like DJ Khaled to Metro Boomin have built reputations off of bringing together topflight talent in ways only they could, Chicago native D.Brooks Exclusive took notice of the roster locally and pieced together a star-studded lineup of Valee, King Louie and KD Young Cocky for his latest single, “This & That” that dropped along with a video this week.

The song itself is super hot from the get go with some serious ability to become a summer anthem or regular party jam, and the video accentuates the mood overall. Valee, who as we all know by now signed to G.O.O.D. Music has been one of the most buzzing names in the city for well over a year now, King Louie is a certified legend in the city that put Drill on the map and KD Young Cocky has been a stalwart in the trenches for years here, always coming through with a reliable verse. Between the three of them, they create an interesting back and forth that gives you, well, a little of this and that. Keep an eye on D.Brooks, after spending several years operating in and out of studios around Chicago, he’s made the leap to working closely with Ty $, Kevin Gates, Jeremih, Common, Fabolous and Lil Durk, among others. It seems obvious, but keep an eye out, there’s much more coming. As always, catch “This & That” streaming on Mild Sauce Radio regularly.
