Tobi Lou has emerged from a crowded scene of local artists over the last year to become one of my favorite fresh faces, and luckily he’s been cooking up a lot of new work, pumping this year with a healthy helping of music which continued before the weekend with his latest short collection, Tobi Lou & The Juice.
The seven-song release follows similar offerings from earlier in the year, Tobi Lou & The Loop and Tobi Lou & The Moon and finds him in familiar bouncy tones with clever bars that straddle rap and r&b in way that finds a way to be increasingly unique with every drop. Between videos like his “Goaty” track that he put out just before this project, Tobi has been keeping the streets filled with new work while we still wait on the full-length that is slated to be produced by No I.D.
