For the last five years or so energy drink-maker Red Bull has buoyed the Chicago music scene with well-curated lineups pulling from both the local and national scenes. This week, they took things up a notch, announcing the debut of their ’30 Days in Chicago’ concert series for the month of November.
The ’30 Days’ series first began in 2014 as a month-long festival of sorts, with different lineups on different stages each day of the month. With Chicago’s Renaissance in full swing, the show appears to be coming to town with FakeShoreDrive’s Andrew Barber at the helm. Barber, who has worked with Red Bull on a series of shows, will celebrate the ten year anniversary of his iconic website with a show featuring Detroit rapper Tee Grizzly and others. 30 Days began as an offshoot of Red Bull’s ‘Sound Select’ vertical that has prided itself on helping to break new talent and support local scenes. In that sense, Barber and the lineup’s he helped curate are a perfect nod to that sentiment.
Joining the shows from around the city are Eryn Allen Kane, Whitney, Smino, Kweku Collins, Ravyn Lenae, Monte Booker, Trapo, Tobi Lou and theMIND. The daily schedules are still being worked out, but you can check out more info and sign up for tickets at the official 30 Days In Chicago website here. Check back often, we’ll have more updates as they become available.
